Privacy Policy

How Briefly collects, uses, and protects data — including our zero-retention policy on raw channel messages.

Last updated May 31, 2026

Draft for legal review. This policy is a good-faith starting point and must be reviewed by qualified counsel before launch.

Overview

Briefly (“we”, “us”) provides a Personal Intelligence Engine delivered through Telegram. This policy explains what we process, why, and the controls you have. We design for data minimization: we process the least we need and retain raw source data only as long as a brief requires it.

Data we process

  • Telegram identity. Your Telegram user ID and username, used to authenticate you and scope your configuration. We never see your password and never access your account credentials.
  • Configuration. The Brief Profiles, source channels, lenses, schedules, and watch terms you create.
  • Source messages, transiently. Public channel content we scrape and private content you forward into a staging group you control. This raw text is processed to generate a brief and then purged after the digest window — see Retention.
  • Operational logs. Structured, non-content request and error logs used to keep the service reliable.

How we use it

We use your data solely to generate and deliver the intelligence briefs you configure, to enforce your subscription tier, and to operate and secure the service. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your source content to train third-party models beyond the per-request processing required to produce your brief.

Retention

Raw channel message text is purged after the digest that used it — it does not persist beyond the brief window. Your configuration persists until you delete it or close your account. Operational logs are retained for a limited period for debugging and security.

Sub-processors

We rely on a small set of infrastructure and AI sub-processors to operate. The current list is published on our Sub-processors page.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact us to exercise them; we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
